Joanne E. Marshall

She was born January 5, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Lester and Ruth Vance English. She married John A. Marshall in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Mrs. Marshall graduated from the University of Illinois in 1954. She was a past president and 50 year member of the PEO Sisterhood. She was also a member of AAUW (American Association of University Women), the Academy of lifelong Learning, Laurel United Methodist Church, and the Sangamo Club

She is survived by two daughters, Janet (husband, Joe) Semanik of Springfield, and Jennifer (husband, Richard) Hunt of Mooresville, IN; one granddaughter, Samantha Hunt; three grandsons, Rob Semanik, Jonny Hunt, and Nicko Hunt; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Kondayan of Lexington, VA

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Auburn Cemetery.
