

Jody Duffy, 57, of Springfield, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at St. John's Hospice. Jody was born August 16, 1952 in Quincy, the daughter of Bill and Catherine Wort Wear. She married Ken Duffy on June 11, 1972 in Mt. Sterling. Jody was a graduate of Rushville High School and was a self-employed beautician who owned and operated Jody's Beauty Shoppe. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Wear; and her stepfather, Dick Clark. She is survived by her husband, Ken Duffy; two sons, Kenny Duffy and Matthew (companion, Christana Eliason) Duffy both of Springfield; mother, Catherine Clark of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Brendan and Logan; six siblings, Dave (wife, Cindy) Wear of Arlington, TX, Jackie (husband, Steve) Enk of St. Charles, IL, Clark (wife, Susan) Wear of Browning, IL, Judy (husband, Jerry) Ham of Mt. Sterling, IL, Liz (husband, Tim) Scoggins of Springfield and Barry (wife, Karen) Wear of Mt. Sterling, IL. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Family will receive friends at a memorial gathering from 4:00 to 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Schulte officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, IL.
