John "Bill" Maurer

John “Bill” Maurer, 47, of Springfield, died at 8:00 a.m. on April 1, 2006 at his residence. John was born on January 6, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Don and Rosemary Grady Maurer. He married Susan Carlove on November 11, 1978 in Springfield. John was the shipping and receiving manager for Phillips Brothers printing. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman. He was a member of the Springfield Roadrunners. He enjoyed running, hunting and fishing. John was a very caring and spiritual gentleman who loved his children and family. He was preceded in death by his father: Don Maurer and one brother: David Maurer. He is survived by his wife: Sue Maurer of Springfield; one son: Joseph Maurer of Springfield; one daughter: Amber Mae Maurer of Springfield; his mother: Rosemary Maurer of Springfield; six sisters: Kathy (husband, Dennis) Lee of Arnold, MO; Margaret Parker of Springfield; Becky (husband, Gary) Silvernail of Springfield; Jean (husband, Bob) Morton of Springfield; Geri (husband, Frank) Ramirez of Springfield and Rose (husband, Rico) Johnson of Springfield; three brothers: Tom (wife, Mary) Maurer of Springfield; Don (wife, Donna) Maurer of Springfield and Jim Maurer of Springfield and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 South Sherman Rd., Sherman, with Rev. James Stuenkel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 South Sherman Rd., P.O.
