John (Jim) was born on June 27, 1934 to Peter and Ernestine (Korenjak) Marsaglia. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronnie, a daughter Debbie Schafer and his wife, Bonnie.
He attended St. Agnes Church and grade school where he made life-long friends, Charlie and Joe. After graduating from Springfield High School, he joined the Illinois Air National Guard, serving 7 years. From there, he worked 22 years at Fiat Allis as a welder.
John was a “jack of all trades” and his favorite pastime was spent in his garage. You would find him there on any given day, fixing or making something, working on someone’s car or helping his buddies with projects.
He didn’t know a stranger and would be the first to jump if anyone needed help. When it came to his children, John made sure they always had fun and he would jump right in with them acting goofy. He was full of shenanigans.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Anette) Patricia and James (Wendy), 7 grandchildren: Rianne, Chris, Jessica, James, Cori, Brenton and Kyle as well as 9 great grand babies.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.
The family will host a Celebration of Life in September.
