

John L. "Jack" Reilly, 83, of Springfield, died at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. John's Hospital. Jack was born on January 22, 1925 in Chicago, the son of Charles H. and Gertrude Lavelle Reilly. Jack attended St. Hilary Grammar School, Loyola Academy, and Loyola University before serving his country in the Navy during WWII as a 1st Class Radioman. He was a member of the Central Illinois Chapter C.P.C.U., the Springfield Casualty Underwriters Association, Blue Goose International, the Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus #364, and the Illinois Association of Insurance Agents. Jack retired from R.W. Troxell Insurance Company. Preceding Jack in death were his parents, Charles and Gertrude; his son, William "Bill" Reilly; and his brothers, William Reilly and Charles H. Reilly. Jack is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Tom (wife, Karen) Reilly of New Berlin; his daughter, Kathy (husband, Bruce) Easterly of Overland Park, KS; and his grandchildren, Brian, Josh, and John Reilly, Adam, Kyle, and Sean Easterly; three great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 9:00-9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008 at St. Agnes, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, IL 62702. A funeral mass will follow visitation at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes with, Rev. Robert J. Jallas, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
