

John M. Tully, Sr., 86, of Springfield, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, December 4, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. John was born August 10, 1919 in Ferguson, MO the son of Richard M. and Ann Devaney Tully. He married Virginia Kaufman on July 11, 1942 in Normandy, MO; she preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. Tully worked for the Electric Auto Light Co. and Ford Motor Auto Light Division in St. Louis for 12 years and then transferred to Springfield in 1963. He also worked for the City of Springfield from 1968 until his retirement in 1991. John was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He is survived by one daughter: Kathleen (husband, Timothy) McAnarney of Springfield; one son: John M. (wife, Jeannie) Tully, Jr. of Garden Grove, CA; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one sister: Mary Jane Butler of Newport News, VA. Cremation accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Private Memorial Mass will be held at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
