Jolene D. McCarty, 77, of Springfield, passed away on March 9, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Springfield to Virgil and Freida Kamees Goff. Jolene married James McCarty Sr., on July 1, 1960 in Springfield and he survives.
Mrs. McCarty is also survived by her children: Renee (Fiancee Kevin Valeu) Marshall, James McCarty Jr., and Janet Hackl all of Springfield and Thomas (Rose Sanchez) McCarty of Texas, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and her parents.
Jolene enjoyed playing Bingo at Victory Hall, crocheting, watching her grandchildren and talking on the phone with her sisters. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday March 23, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm Thursday at Bisch and Son.
