

Jonathan Shane Conkrite, 16, of Springfield, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Johns Hospital. Jonathan was born December 11, 2001 in Peoria, the son of Luke Jonathan Conkrite and Lindsey Nacole Spence. Jonathan attended Lanphier High School. An avid milk drinker since birth, he was very athletic and had played baseball, basketball, and football. He started wrestling at the age of 5, won several awards, and advanced to the state championship. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing craps anywhere he could, and hanging out with friends. He was always the life of the party. Jonathan was a loving uncle. He had a soft-spot for children; they were all drawn to his funny personality. Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Ferry; great-grandmothers, Shirley Bramblett and Pamela Jones; two uncles, Shane Conkrite and John Conkrite; aunt, Wendy Luzinski; two cousins, Matt Blair and Billy Bramblett; and several other grandparents. Jonathan and his cousin, Jared Kelch, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 27, 2018 have been reunited with family in heaven. He is survived by his father, Luke; mother, Lindsey (fianc, Eric Woollen); grandparents, Linda Guffey, Danette Reynolds, John Conkrite, and Mark and Linda Woollen; great-grandparents, Ike Bramblett, David and Gloria Seifert, and Marjorie Paternoster; brother, Luke "Gage" Conkrite; sister, Brianna Conkrite (Griffin Taylor); niece, Octavia Taylor; and an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
