Joseph Burgess

Joseph Burgess, 18, of Riverton, died on April 1, 2006 at his residence. Joseph was born on June 9, 1987 in Springfield, the son of Dennis and Kim Griffitts Burgess. He attended Riverton High School. He enjoyed baseball and loved to water ski. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Elmer and Gwen Squires; one grandmother: Doris Griffitts; one grandfather William Burgess and one sister: Jennifer Lynn Graves. He is survived by his parents: Kim (husband, George) Winders of Riverton and Dennis (wife, Samantha) Burgess of Springfield; two sons: Lynden and Jaden Bannick of Elliotstown; his companion Jessie Walker of Riverton; one grandfather: Horace Griffitts of Riverton; one grandmother: Mary Blankenship of North Carolina; three brothers: Dennis Griffitts-Burgess of Springfield; James Burgess of Riverton and Robert Burgess of Pontiac; two sisters: Brittany Winders of Riverton and Cheri Colvin of Pontiac and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Kyle Gennicks officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
