Juanita Maxine “Perkie” Perkins, 80, of Springfield, passed away at 12:47 a.m. Thursday, November 28, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital. Juanita was born September 12, 1922 in Springfield, the daughter of Herbert and Olive Perkins. She was employed by Hobbs Corporation for 17 years and she owned and operated Perkie’s Beauty Salon for over 20 years. She also loved to paint and sew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Kathryn Miller and Patches. She is survived by “her kid” Leslie (husband, Dana) Dinora; one sister: Violet (husband, Jack) Carncross of Springfield and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 12-1:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2002. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
