

Judith Williams, 74, of Springfield, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Judith was born June 23, 1942 in Springfield, the daughter of Granville C. and Marie V. Tomlin Smith. She married Donald E. Williams on October 6, 1966 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on February 19, 2003. Judith graduated from Springfield High School and retired from Horace Mann. Prior to working at Horace Mann, she was a cosmetologist and ran a licensed daycare in her home. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed making scarfs, crocheting, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. Judith was a generous, loving woman that touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Troy E. Williams; and siblings, Donna Justice, James Miller, and Thomas Smith. She is survived by her children, John E. Williams of Springfield, Vincent Michael Williams of Springfield, Angel (husband, Kevin) Garner of Springfield, and a daughter of her heart, Theresa Casey of Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara Crowley of Springfield, Butch Smith and Michael (wife, Karen) Smith, both of Carlinville. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:30 until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Dr. Thomas Radtke officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
