

Julie Ann Monroe, 51, of Springfield, died at 10:57 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Springfield. Julie was born April 23, 1960 in Springfield, the daughter of Merle and Mary Ellen Coniglio Monroe. Julie was a long time employee of Subway at Prairie Heart Institute. She enjoyed fishing and camping. Julie was a funny, caring and quick-witted woman who will be greatly missed. She loved people and kidding around with everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Harding, Sr. and her father, Merle L. Monroe. She is survived by her children, Dawn (husband, Cleo) Martinez, Donny Rathbone (companion, Jami Braner) and Dylan Rathbone, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Alyssa House, Dennis Harding Jr., Angelena Martinez and Izzabella Martinez, all of Springfield; mother, Mary Ellen Creighton of Springfield; siblings, Merle Monroe of Springfield, Kay Murphy of Alabama, Nora Jasmon of Springfield, David Creighton of Springfield, Zella Hollis of Kentucky, Missy Stubbs of Springfield and Robin Tinsley of Springfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 at South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield, with Daniel Shelton officiating. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. In honor of Julie's fun personality, casual attire is encouraged.
