Katherine E. Bradshaw

Katherine E. Bradshaw, 88, of Springfield, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Regency Care Center in Springfield, IL. Katherine was born February 12, 1926 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of John H. and Edistina Beggs McKeown. She married Fred H. Bradshaw on August 10, 1949 in Decatur, IL. Katherine attended Millikin University earning a bachelor's degree in business and then Illinois State University earning a degree in education. She later continued her education to receive her master's degree from University of Illinois Springfield (formerly, Sangamon State University). She was a teacher for Springfield School District # 186 at Carl Sandburg School. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, fitness, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clinton and John McKeown; sisters, Edistina Kelso, Jesse Miller, and Sally Franco; and grandson, Jesse Bradshaw. She is survived by her husband, Fred H. Bradshaw of Springfield; three sons, Tracy M. of Chesterfield, MO, Todd W. of Eugene, OR and Bart T. Bradshaw of St. John, MO; one daughter, Sally S. Sherman of Springfield; grandchildren, Philip and Max Sherman and Rosie Bradshaw. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
