

She was born in West Virginia on August 16, 1946, the daughter of Gibert B. and Myrtle L. (Runion) Dumire. Katherine married Francis Edward Roher in Gorman, MD, on December 23, 1963. He preceded her in death.
Katherine was born and raised in Davis, WV. She graduated from Mountaineer High School in Davis and later attended Lincoln Land Community College where she earned her cooking certificate. Katherine went on to work as a line cook and waitress at several restaurants including Donuts Etc. for 15 years and Heritage House for 3 years. She also spent time as a homemaker to take care of her children and grandchildren, which was one of her greatest accomplishments and biggest joys. Katherine was a loving mother and grandmother, also known to be everybody’s grandma. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, and gardening.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell Varner and Donald Dumire; and grandson, Justin Roher.
Katherine is survived by her son, John (Mandi) Roher of Springfield; daughters, Tina M. Roher and Mary (Timothy) Knott of Springfield; grandchildren, Crystal, Aimee, Lisa, Pamela, Thomas, Jason, Rachel, Kimberlee, and Ariana, all of Springfield; brother, Charles (Wanda) Dumire; sisters, Betty (Jeff) Dempsey, Pauletta (Steve) Hamm, and Loretta Godbey; great-grandchildren, Krystyna, Antonio, Catelynn, Oliver, and Isabella; aunt, Louise; sister-in-law, Linda; step-granddaughter, Chelbi; ex daughter-in-law, Tina M. Roher; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Service: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
