For our mother, confidante, teacher, friend; our Wonder Woman: How greatly she is missed, how deep our hearts break. We are struck with the sudden passing of Kathie Geary, 54, of Williamsville, at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019. She was a loving and devoted mother and friend. She spread her light and kindness to all those she touched. She actively volunteered her time to the community and those in need. She loved fiercely, lived fearlessly, and never stopped smiling. She was a spring of wisdom and had a life-long love of learning; she also loved to read. She was an amazing cook, and always offered guests a warm meal. She was an animal lover and held a special place in her heart for chickens, raising them and collecting all things chicken-related. She enjoyed the outdoors and new experiences. She was loving, kind, courageous, wise, adventurous, compassionate, generous, exuberant, inventive, passionate, persistent, funny, reliable, joyful, trust-worthy, welcoming, supportive, strong, inspirational - words falter and fail at describing the immensity of Kathies life. It is impossible to sum up the awe-inspiring woman she was. Know that her love was boundless, that her heart sang the most beautiful of songs, that even now she is working to care for all those that she knew. Kathie was born July 10, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of James and Helene Kaster. She always dreamed of being a mother and is survived by her son, Austin Geary and daughter, Taylor Geary. She also left behind five siblings, Jamie Kaster of Austin TX, Deborah (Brad) Pfluger of Austin, TX, Lollie (Tom) Matthew of Austin, TX, John Kaster of Houston, TX, and Rustie (Allison) Kaster of San Francisco, CA; aunt, Barbara Kaster; and several nieces and nephews. Donations can be made to Bikers Against Child Abuse - an organization Kathie participated in and felt passionate about. https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1340203 Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. The family of Kathie Geary is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.
