Kathleen M. Ward

Kathleen was born on February 24, 1934 in Lincoln, the daughter of Stephen and Mary Hoffman Walsh. She married James M. Ward, Sr. on February 13, 1954 in Elkhart, IL.

Kathleen graduated from Elkhart High School in 1952. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for 55 years. Her life was all about family and revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Larson; and oldest son, James M. Ward, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Susie Heinzel (Lindsey) of Springfield and Lisa Newman (Steve) of Orion; son, John Ward (Cindy) of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ward of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Wes Ward (Sara), Abby Isringhausen (Luke), Elle Schwartz (Austin), Jake Ward (fiance, Katie), Nick Newman, Jarrett Ward, Rachel Newman, Erika Ward, and Max Heinzel; nine great-grandchildren, Ewan, Brodie, Isabelle, and Marty Ward, Levi, Ben, and Ivy Isringhausen, Briar and Jules Schwartz; sister, Colleen (H.A.) Votsmier of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 205 South Bogardus St., Elkhart with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery.
