Kathryn C. Bryant

Kathryn C. Bryant, 99, of Springfield, died at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Kathryn was born in Madison, IL on June 26, 1905, the daughter of John and Mildred Perakovia Maskey. She married Elmer Bryant and he preceded her in death in 1973. Kathryn was co-owner and operator of Bryant’s Food Market from 1938-1973. She was a former member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: John, Thomas, and Joseph Maskey, and one sister, Barbara Stevens. She is survived by one son: Richard L. (wife, Macille) Bryant of Springfield; one granddaughter: Janice (husband, Randy) Miller of Springfield; one grandson: Richard J. (wife, Wendy) Bryant of Springfield; four great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Fox of Springfield, Mildred Caldieraro of Staunton, Norma Maskey of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon on Monday, April 18, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John A. Renken officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
