Kathryn A. Gleason

Kathryn A. Gleason, 66, of Springfield, passed away at 10:43 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Kathryn was born February 20, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of William and Amy Adams Boyd. She married Robert S. Gleason on June 3, 1961 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on June 7, 1982. She later married Louis Tilling on November 25, 1984, he preceded her in death in May of 1985. She was a registered nurse who worked for Hope School for the Blind, SIU School of Medicine in oncology and Family Practice, Memorial Medical Center on the Surgical floor, and State of Illinois Department of Public Health as a Home Healthcare Surveyor. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Blessed Sacrament Altar and Rosary Society, Blessed Sacrament Parish School Religion, Blessed Sacrament Renew Program and St. Joseph’s Home Coterie. She also was a former Hospice volunteer. She also served as a mentor for SIU medical students. She is preceded in death by her husbands, parents and an infant son Mark Gleason . She is survived by three sons: John (wife, Jody) Gleason of Newark; Paul (wife, Terie Frazer) Gleason of Normal and Patrick Gleason of Springfield; one daughter: Ann Gleason(husband, Gary Pattillo) of Durham, NC; seven grandchildren: Cole, Finn, Liam, Kaylee, Hollie, Lindsay and Ellie; one sister; Georgia (husband, Don) Ewers of Illinois;one Brother: William (wife, Carol) of Minnesota; brother-in-law: Richard Gleason of Lima, Ohio; several beloved nieces and nephews and many special friends that she considered to be her extended family. Friends may call at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield, IL, from 3-6:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2002. Funeral Mass will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2002 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Kevin W. Vann. Private inurnment will be at Calvary cemetery on Tuesday, December 24, 2002. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice, 800 E. Carpenter, Springfield, IL 62702.
