

She was born in Elgin, April 27, 1916, the daughter of John Michael and Florence May Murphy Sharp. She was preceded in death by her two brothers,Capt. Wendell C. Sharp and Glendon C. Sharp, and her daughter, Suzanne P.Stohr.
Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Peoria Manual High School and attended the University of Illinois. She was employed by Charles C. Thomas, Publisher and Lincoln Library. A resident of Springfield for over 50 years, she was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church, Springfield Civic Garden Club and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Survivors: one son, J. Michael Phillips(wife Pat), Green Lake, WI, a brother, Lester T. (wife Ida ) Sharp, Pomano Beach, FL, 4 grandchildren Jon Stohr (wife Sue) of Wildwood, MO, Stan Stohr (wife Laura), Kathy Eaton (husband Zane) of Plymouth, WI, Mike Phillips of Tulsa, OK, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Christy Koury (husband Joe) of Kansas City, MO., Steven Moxley, Jonathon Stohr and Hannah Stohr, Great-Great Grandchild Jack Koury.
Per Kathryn’s wishes cremation rites were followed. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield. Bisch and Sons Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
