Kenneth Ackerman, 69, of Springfield, died at 8:37 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Capitol Care. Kenneth was born March 20, 1944 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of William Kenneth and Gretchen Wineteer Ackerman. Kenneth was a member of Grace Community Church and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed collecting coins and pocket watches. He was very appreciative of everyone's help throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral ceremony at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Pastor Dan Shaner officiating. Graveside committal will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
