

Kenneth R. Adams, 83, of Springfield, passed away on June 29, 2025 at Springfield Suites. He was born on December 8, 1941 in Springfield to Keith Howard and Cleo Aileen Poland Adams. He married Juanita (Nita) in 1991 and she survives. He was preceded in death by one sister Aileen.
Ken retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company in 1998 as the Vice President of Systems. He worked there for 36 ½ years.
He was a member of Chatham Ducks Unlimited, The Committee and AITP, the Association of Information Professionals serving as the President of the local chapter and Region 5 from 2003 to 2004. In 2006 he was appointed representative for AITP to the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP). AITP is one of the constituent societies that provides direction to the ICCP and Ken received his Certificate in Data Processing in January of 1968 from ICCP.
Mr. Adams is survived by one son Bradley Alan Adams of Prattsville, Alabama, a step-daughter April Lyn Zerkle of Kansas City, Missouri, three grandchildren: Ashley Nicole (Jax) Akins of Windsor, Missouri, Jonathan Bishop (Chelsey) of Kansas City, Missouri and Logan Montgomery Adams of Prattsville, Alabama, two great-grandsons: Lyle and Clyde of Windsor, Missouri, one brother Edward Adams and two sisters: Nancy (Phil) Satorius and Susan (David) Houston.
Cremation rites were accorded and the family will host a memorial gathering at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Information Technology Education (FITE), edfoundation.org.
