

Ken was born in Springfield, Illinois, on July 6, 1932 to Spencer T. and Eunice Sellers Anderson. On July 25, 1959, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Wiemer at the Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church in Springfield and she survives.
Ken is a graduate of Springfield High School and the University of Illinois at Urbana, Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering and was a member of Triangle Fraternity. He also served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Ken worked for the AT&T Long Lines Department, was Vice President of the Anderson Pipe Co., Inc., and was President of the Anderson Seal Company. He was a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Concrete Pipe Association, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the Rochester United Methodist Church, and the Variety Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Don R. of Omaha, Nebraska and E. Dale Anderson of Springfield.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his son, Kenneth Mark Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; his
daughter, Catherine Louise Anderson (husband, Steven Edward) Spearie of Clayton, MO; his grandson, Lorenz Henry Anderson, and his sister, Phyllis (husband, John, deceased) Campbell of Decatur.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
A private burial service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery with The Rev. Martha J. Bradley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
