

Kenneth D. "Kenny" Grman, 56, of Springfield, passed away at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at St. John's Hospital with his family at his bedside. Kenny was born August 12, 1953 in Litchfield, the son of Eugene L. Grman and Marcella M. (Anschutz) Grman. Kenny earned his Associate's Degree from Scott Community College in Davenport, IA. In 1978, he opened Grman's Motorcycle Service, where he specialized in Harley Davidson motorcycles. Kenny was known for his dedication to quality work and customer service, with customers both here in Springfield and across the U.S. Kenny was also known as an independent spirit who was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, customers and even strangers. He enjoyed many hobbies including model railroading, collecting guns, riding his John Deere tractor and watching old "western" movies onhis big screen television. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael and Barbara Grman and Edward "Butch" and Verna Anschutz; and step-brother, Michael Day. He is survived by his fiance, Inga Schweska of Springfield; his son, Matthew Michael Grman of Springfield; former wife, Debbie Grman of Springfield; mother, Marcella (husband, William) Day of Springfield; father, Eugene (wife, Kathe) Grman of Springfield; three siblings, Michael (wife, Janet) Grman of Janesville, WI, Laura Grman of Madison, WI and Gina (husband, Dan Borree) Grman of Appleton, WI; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Kenny will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Mt.
