
Kenneth ''Kenny'' C. Heim, 76, of Springfield, passed away at 2:10 a.m., Sunday, April 22, 2001. Kenneth was born August 23, 1924 the son of Frederick and Florence Hoke Heim in Trevorton, Pennsylvania. He married Ruth Horton June 26, 1948 in Chicago. Mr. Heim worked as a salesman for Ronk Electric in Nokomis. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII in Normandy, Belgium and Germany receiving a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal, World Ward II Victory Medal and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. Kenneth was a member of Mason Lodge #71, Ansar Shrine, Legion of Honor, Scottish Rite, Capitol City Shrine Club, and Ansor Retirees. He was also a lifetime member of American Legion Post #92 in Trevorton, PA and a member of Hope Presbyterian Church He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Heim of Springfield; one son: William F. Heim of Springfield; two daughters: Kris Heim of Kincaid, Laurie (husband, Larry) Jamieson and three grandchildren. Memorial services are being held at Hope Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2001. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial will conduct Military Honors.
