Kenya Faith Buchanan-Pruitt

Kenya Faith Buchanan-Pruitt, 21, of Springfield, left this earth at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Kenya was born on July 21, 1995 in Springfield, the daughter of Kelly Pruitt Cade and Lance Cade. Kenya was a fun, sweet, loving, unique, and witty person. She had a passion for poetry, especially writing poems for her grandma. Kenya also enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking pictures of herself. She had an outgoing spirit and loved spending time outdoors. Kenya loved her mom's cooking. She was preceded in death by her great-grandma, Ruth Cravens; great-grandparents, Mary & Edward Pruitt; and several great-uncles. She is survived by her mother, Kelly Pruitt Cade; a sister, Kinsey Pruitt; and her father, Lance Cade, all of Springfield; grandparents, Cindy Center, John and Mary Pruitt, all of Springfield, and Mary "Katie" Cade of Moberly, MO; great-grandfathers, Cecil Cravens and Jerome May, both of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Woulfe officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
