Kirstin Elaine Henderson

Kirstin Elaine Henderson, 47, of Springfield, died at 2:59 p.m. on April 12, 2009 at her home. Kirstin was born on September 20, 1961 in Springfield the daughter of Earl "Wally" Henderson, Jr. and Sally Vicary Henderson. Kirstin was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from University of Illinois in Springfield. She was employed by the State of Illinois, beginning her career at Central Management Services and also working at the Department of Natural Resources. Kirstin loved animals and children. She was an avid sports fan, especially the San Francisco 49ers and enjoyed sailing. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her father, Wally (wife, Brynn) Henderson, of Springfield; her siblings, Rebecca LaForce of Concord, NH, Katherine Henderson of Austin, TX, Earl Henderson, III of Springfield and Timothy (wife, Jennifer) Henderson of Springfield; her step-brother, Christopher (wife, Jill) Bender; her step-sister, J. Brynn Bender of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 S. Walnut St., Springfield, with The Rev. Tasha L. Blackburn officiating. Private family burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery prior to the memorial ceremony. Memorial contributions may be can be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702.
