Larry Feaster, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Big Spring, Texas passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, following a hard-fought two-year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer, at 64 years of age.
Larry was born in Colorado City, Texas, to Lonnie and Verna Ruth Feaster on July 25, 1961. He grew up in a family of 9 living on a farm in Luther, Texas, attending Sands ISD in Ackerly, Tx.
His siblings share his life journey’s story of how Larry was forced to overcome adversity at a young age after suffering through a horrific farm tractor accident at age six, resulting in a crushed pelvis, and a broken right leg. He was in a body cast for 18 months but continued to move about as any young little boy would want to do. He did not let this set back…set him back. Although his injury left him with a painful limp, he just kept going. While in Junior High and High School, he excelled on the varsity basketball and tennis teams. When not playing sports, he kept himself busy working on the farm.
Upon graduation, he married Ginny Stevenson and they had two daughters, Tiffany and Tara. The marriage was later dissolved. Larry began a 20-year career with Coca-Cola, and would later branch out on his own, exercising his entrepreneur skills in establishing his very own concession trailer and traveling to local events. It was then that he met a special lady, Mary Crifasi also in the concession business. They combined their efforts and formed a company. Based out of Springfield, Illinois, their travel itinerary would take them to festivals and rodeos throughout the country.
Following the COVID pandemic, they decided it was time to slow down and consider retirement, making a move to Florida, a place they have always enjoyed visiting. They purchased a home on the west coast, and continued with a shortened travel schedule. Unfortunately, his cancer treatment kept them closer to the doctor’s care in Springfield, and spending time at their retirement home was limited.
Larry loved life and always had a smile on his face. He loved the concession business (especially rodeos), and he and Mary enjoyed traveling and establishing many friendships along the way. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Phase10 or any competitive family game. He appreciated his longstanding relationship with classmate Dr. David Long and the Long family, especially during his battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Crifasi of Springfield; daughters, Tiffany (Bryon) Ellison of Abilene and Tara Secreto of Pontiac, Michigan; Mary’s children, Melinda, Angelo (Angie), and Anthony (Kim) Crifasi; grandchildren, Jared, Lynzee, and Tinsley Ellison, Karsen Feaster, Maylee Collins, Phoenix, and Eli Secreto, and Hannah (Steven) Miller, Austin, Kean, Vincent, Russell Jr., Joseph, Kylee, Steven, Rocco, Kynzlee, Paysen, and Payzlee Crifasi; great grandchildren, Everleigh Ellison, Tate Crifasi, Maelyn Miller, and Cowan Miller; sister, Londa Fellows of Midland; two brothers, Rendy Feaster of Big Spring and Stan (Bruce) Feaster of Las Colinas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ruth Feaster; brothers, Rodney, and Ronney Feaster; sister, Blenda Riley; and Mary’s son, Rusty Crifasi.
Cremation is being provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Family will receive friends on Saturday January 10, 2026 from 10 AM until 12 PM at Butler Funeral Home.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703.
