

Larry was born on July 24, 1940, in Anabel, MO, the son of Lee V. and Oreta M. Hutton Imler. He married Kathryn “Kathy” Call on November 26, 1973, in Springfield.
Larry served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Jerome United Methodist Church. He worked as a Union Carpenter for Local Union 270 for 36 years. Larry enjoyed traveling with his wife, combing the beaches of Bonita Springs, FL for seashells, and collecting railroad padlocks. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments of his children, his faith was very important to him, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Imler of Springfield; one son, Timothy (wife, Angie) Imler of Springfield; two daughters, Ginger (husband, Kenny) Shepard of Gilbert, AZ and Dr. Meredith (husband, Noah) Schoch of Alpine, TX; and five grandchildren, Justin and Rachel Imler, Isaac and Leah Shepard, and Evelyn Schoch.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Jerome United Methodist Church, 1570 Reed Ave., Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Donn Stephens officiating. Private burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerome United Methodist Church, 1570 Reed Ave., Springfield, IL 62704.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield.
