Larry Wayne Larson

He was born in Springfield, IL, and attended Southeast High School. Larry retired as a business agent for the Teamsters in 2023. He was an avid hunter and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. As an active member of the Anchor Boat Club, he enjoyed cooking and smoking meat for various events and for friends. Larry was an avid dog lover, and his own dogs, Buck and Ollie, held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years (and Cubs fan), Julie A. Lloyd; son, Zach, and his daughters, Amilia and Gracelynn (Springfield, IL); daughter, Reagan, and her husband, Zach Worth, and their children, Evelyn, Walker and Charlotte (Rochester, IL); sister, Patricia Wolf, and her partner, Dave Bailey (Manicopa, AZ); niece, Lysa Wilde and her husband Bruce (Kincaid, IL); nephew, Kevin Larson (Springfield, IL); niece, Michelle Larson (Springfield, IL); niece, Gina Mowles, and her husband, Chris (Springfield, IL); great nephews, TJ Wilde, and his wife, Taylor (Chatham, IL), Matt Wilde (Springfield, IL), Erik Larson and his wife, Bri (Swannanoa, NC); and several great, great nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Leroy Larson and Margaret Larson (Springfield, IL); sister, Joni Ley; brother-in-law, Toney (Kincaid, IL); and brother, Butch Larson (Springfield, IL).

Memorial Gathering to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.

Private family inurnment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

All are welcome to join us at the Anchor Boat Club at 3:00 PM after the burial for a dinner on Monday.
