Larry Norvell, 67, of Springfield, formerly of Butler, died at 1:26 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Larry was born February 22, 1936 in Hillsboro, IL, the son of Claude H. and Esther Seward Norvell. He attended SIU at Edwardsville and was a US Air Force Veteran. He had been employed as a sales representative for Calvert Distributors, a Warehouse Manager for Matthews Transfer and a laborer for Duffys’ Inc. He enjoyed restoring furniture and making wooden toys. He had an avid interest for Indian lore. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lorraine Osborne. He is survived by one son, Derek Norvell of Springfield, grandson, Kalin Norvell of Petersburg and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler, IL at a later date.
