Larry L. Smith Jr.

Larry L. Smith Jr., 47, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1965 in Springfield, the son of Larry L. Smith Sr., and Sally Fox. He married Olive L. Tanner in Springfield on August 23, 1986 and she survives.

Mr. Smith is also survived by his parents Larry L. Smith Sr., and Sally Elaine Ushman, his children: Brittany (husband Zachary) Rosendahl and Larry L. Smith III both of Springfield, four sisters: Barbra (husband Robert) LaPenna, Margaret (husband Keith) Mefford, Dorothy (husband Donald) Boblitt, and Pamela (husband Brad) Reisenger, one grandson Liam Mykel Rosendahl, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother James George Smith, and his Dad Anthony Ushman.

Larry worked for several family owned businesses in Springfield, the Gateway Foundation, and CWLP in various positions.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen St., with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:00am-12:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the care of Larry L. Smith III.
