Lela P. Sisti

Lela P. Sisti, 66, of Springfield, died at 1:58 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Lela was born July 18, 1948 in Kampsville, the daughter of Fred H. and Leota M. Bauser Houseman. She married Phillip John Sisti; he preceded her in death in 1979. Lela was a graduate of Porta High School and worked for Pleasant Hill Elementary School. She then was a bus monitor for Laidlaw (First Student) for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and shopping. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Fred "Tink" Houseman and Helen Houseman. She is survived by three sons, Mark, Michael (wife, Jamie) and Drake John Sisti, all of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Mathew, Chris, Megan, Phillip, Camren, Jade and Lucas; five great-grandchildren, Abby, Malakai, Izzy, Eli and Mathew, Jr.; two siblings, Lila "Duke" (husband, John) Hardwick and Terry (wife, Kim) Houseman, all of Hillview; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:30 11:45 a.m. with the Funeral Ceremony beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
