

Lisa Bloome, 48, of Chatham, passed away March 26, 2017, at St. John's Hospital. She was born on April 15, 1968, in Jacksonville, IL, to Gary and Carolyn Brogdon. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Lee Bloome. She is survived by her parents, brother, John (significant other, Catherine Pritchett) Brogdon of Jacksonville; father and mother-in-law, James and Helen Bloome of Port Byron, IL; sister-in-law, Jennifer (William) Staib of Coralville, IA; brother-in-law, Christopher (Kimberly) Bloome of Liverpool, NY. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, the University of Illinois and Illinois College. Lisa taught fourth grade at Blessed Sacrament School and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham. Lisa met Lee Bloome at a friends wedding reception and hit it off immediately talking to each other the entire evening. They were married a year and a half later on a beautiful winter morning with friends and family in Jacksonville. The highlight of the year was always their trips to Traverse City, Michigan, enjoying the beautiful coasts, the many shops, sandy beaches, and most importantly, the best pie in the world. She will be greatly missed. There will be a Prayer Vigil 4pm, Thursday, March 30 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Her family will greet friends immediately following the prayer vigil from 4:15pm-8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, March 31, at St. Joseph the Worker, 700 East Spruce Street, Chatham, with Fr. John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery, Jacksonville, IL.
