Lori Jo McTaggart

Lori was born on October 28, 1973, in Springfield, the daughter of Mike and Marsha (Richardson) Lemasters. She married James “JD” McTaggart on September 7, 2013, in Springfield.

Lori was an alumna of the Williamsville Lady Bullets and the North-Sangamon 4-H Club. Lori also served as a volunteer paramedic and firefighter in the Dawson area. A fanatic of all things that drive, Lori could be found on Jeep rides with her grand-pup, Waylon, motorcycle rides with the Stilettos on Steel, tractor and combine rides with her husband, JD, and even a few times in the powderpuff stock races driving a family friend's car. She enjoyed watching cattle shows, volleyball games, chorus concerts, and she was always the loudest voice amongst the cheering crowds. Lori was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walt and Marjorie Lemasters, and Joe and Dorothy Richardson; and uncles, Larry Richardson, and Bob Tibbs, Jr.

Lori is survived by her daughters, Kaleigh (Darren) and Morgan (James) Gabriel; husband, James “JD” McTaggart; stepdaughter, Kinze McTaggart; mother, Marsha Lemasters; brother, Tim (Marcy) Lemasters; nephew, Lucas Lemasters; niece, Ellie Lemasters; aunt, Kathy Tibbs; many cousins; her adopted ISP brothers and sisters; her fellow Stilettos Sisters and bikers; her fur-family, four-legged children Mack, Oshie, and Phoenix; and her grand-pup, Waylon.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
