Lorraine Louise Taylor

Lorraine was born on January 7, 1931, in Springfield, the daughter of Daniel and Clara Staats Walls. She married George K. Taylor on June 25, 1949, in Springfield; he preceded her in death on July 10, 2012.

Lorraine was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She loved her family dearly and devoted her life to being a homemaker. Lorraine also enjoyed sewing, reading, word search puzzles, gardening, birds, and traveling extensively especially to Table Rock Lake. Lorraine had previously attended Sugar Creek United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Roy Walls, Louis Walls, Carl Harris, Rosalie Wood, Bill Walls, and Mary Ann Austin.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (husband, Richard) Kick of Springfield and Vickie (husband, Donald) Thompson of Springfield; one grandchild, Pamela S. (husband, Greg) Gutzman of Waverly; two great-grandchildren, Ben and Jake Gutzman; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the team of caregivers of Residential Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Lorraine over the last 4 ½ years.
