

Louis James Forsyth, 75, of New Berlin, died at 4:36 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. Louis was born March 21, 1932 in Springfield the son of David Silas and Mary Luella Heinemann Forsyth. They preceded him in death. He married Martha Luella Koke in Berlin on March 25, 1954 at the Berlin Christian Church. Louis attended Pleasant Plains High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Stationary Engineer for the State of Illinois at the McFarland Zone Center, retiring in August 1991. He enjoyed living in the country, fishing and having coffee with his buddies. He was a NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed his 1969 El Camino show car, which won many trophies. He was a member of the Berlin Christian Church. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Mary White. He is survived by his wife Martha Luella Forsyth of New Berlin; two daughters, Pamela (husband, Dale) Clements of New Berlin and Vicki (husband, Bryant) Conner of Ashland; six grandchildren, Niccole and Zachary Clements, Joshua Forsyth, and Stephanie, James and Trisha Conner; two brothers, George (wife, Mable) Forsyth of New Berlin and David (wife, Theresa) Forsyth of Aurora, CO; one sister, Margaret Emily Forsyth of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral ceremonies will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Plains Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Department of the Defense. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Christian Church Building Fund, 113 E. 1st St., Berlin, IL 62670.
