Louis A. Huddleston

Louis A. Huddleston, 82, of Springfield, died at 3:08 a.m. Sunday, October 17, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Louis was born August 20, 1922 in Paducah, KY the son of Willard G. and Henrietta Oberhausen Huddleston. He married Joy Ruth Malray, June 13, 1949 in Paducah, KY. Mr. Huddleston was employed by the Paducah Sun Democrat in Paducah, KY and was later employed by the State Journal Register retiring in 1986 after 35 years. He was a Boy Scout Master in Paduca, KY and for fifteen years in Springfield. He was a member of Church of the Little Flower and the Men’s Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Ruth Sarchi and one sister: Shirley Priddle. He is survived by his wife: Joy of Springfield; five sons: Richard (wife, Patricia) of Edinburg, George (wife, Mary) of Springfield, James of Owensboro, KY, Kenneth (wife, Barb) of Edinburg and Edward (wife, Melissa) Huddleston of Manhattan, KS; two daughters: Elaine Huddleston of Springfield, Linda (husband, Dr. Richard) Schlabach of Nashville, TN and twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Fr. Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah, KY.
