

Louise was born October 12, 1918 in Riverton, the daughter of Bernardino and Asunta Frasco Gentile. She married Carl John Giordano on June 8, 1940 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; he preceded her in death on August 28, 2000.
Louise was a graduate of Feitshan's High School and later earned her beautician certificate at Springfield School of Beauty Culture. She worked for Pollyanna Beauty Salon, Sangamo Electric, the Wig Shop, and the Lillian Shop. She then worked for Nancy's Closet until her retirement. She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, St. Louise DeMarillac, Roman Cultural Society Ladies Auxiliary and the Postal Employees Ladies Auxiliary. Louise enjoyed travelling, sewing, drawing, painting, and cooking.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pasquale Gentile; and five sisters, Norma Roscetti, Mary Baldoni, Laura Gentile, Susan Gentile, and Ethel Petrone.
She is survived by her children, Carl L. (wife, Martha) Giordano of O'Fallon, IL, Louis (significant other, Aimee Bick) Giordano of Springfield, Patrick (wife, Anita) Giordano of Newburgh, IN, Paula (husband, Keith) Moore, and Nancy (husband, Thomas) Curry, both of Springfield; step-daughter, Clara Marie Krumwiede of Springfield; thirteen grandchildren, C. Nicholas (wife, Jennifer) Giordano, Anthony (wife, Annaliese) Giordano, John (wife, Christine) Giordano, Mark Giordano, Tamara Root, Jennifer (husband, Michael) Patrick, Carla (husband, Sean) Bagby, Rachel Giordano, Mario (wife, Virginia) Moore, Dominic (wife, Sara) Moore, Natalie (husband, Sean) Howes, Brandon Curry, and Blake Curry; six step-grandchildren, Dale, Karen, Lisa, Keith, Kevin, and Steven Krumwiede; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with prayers at 4:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield with Rev. Zachary Edgar, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
