

LuAnn Johnson, 68, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. LuAnn was born April 6, 1947, in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence R. and Mildred B. Hurst O'Brien. LuAnn graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1965 and earned her bachelor's degree from Sangamon State University. She also completed coursework toward her master's degree. She was the Executive Director of Oak Ridge Cemetery for many years, retiring in 2011. She was currently employed as the Director of Fiscal Operations for Senior Services of Central Illinois. LuAnn volunteered for the LPGA State Farm Classic for 32 years and was a member of Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren, playing cards, and traveling to Ireland. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred O'Brien, and her stepmother, Mary Alice Robinson O'Brien. She is survived by her father; three daughters, Jenifer Johnson (Rudy Braud), Jill (Ignacio) Loureiro, and Joy (Chad) Wolfe; seven grandchildren, Ian, Caroline, and Eliza Braud, Mikey Loureiro, and Kaylie, Anna, and Delaney Wolfe; brother, Larry G. O'Brien (Susan Yuscius); nieces, Jewel and Megan O'Brien; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 3:00 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Christ the King, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Christ the King with Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum.
