

She was born in Hillsboro, Apr. 3, 1914 the daughter of Albert and Yvonne Marie Cory Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Juliet and Martha. Lucia will always be loved by her surviving sister, Alberta Barringer of Springfield and nieces Martha Darling( husband,Dan) of New BErlin and Katherine Ann Wooldridge of Springfield. "Lulie" will also be remembered by five great and ten great-great nieces and nephews.
Miss Evans was a valued secretary early in her career working for the Federal Commerce Commision in Washington D.C. She transferred to SCott Air Force Base and during World War II went to St. Louis as secretary for the Commanding General of the Army Air Forces Central Technical Training Command until the end of the war. Later Lucia learned the printing trade and worked as a printer for the Montgomery County News and then the State Journal Register for twenty years un til her retirement. She had many interests including reading, singing, traveling, baking, ceramics, knitting, tatting and quilting. She was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
Family graveside services were held Saturday Sept. 8, 2007 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro with Rev. Joel Lohr officiating. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund c/o Bill Wills, 912 Roundtree St. Hillsboro,IL. 62049
