

Lucile Frainer, 98, of New Berlin died at Barton W. Stone Nursing Home in Jacksonville at 11:45 pm on Monday, June 30, 2008. Lucile was born July 19, 1909 in Clarksville, TX, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Reiser Courier. She married Arthur Frainer on March 25, 1932 in Winchester. She attended Bluegrass grade school in Alexander. She went on to become a homemaker and did so with great enthusiasm and love. Lucile was deeply treasured by her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with her family and friends. She also knew how to keep them fed with her great cooking, including some of the best fried chicken and sugar cookies around. Lucile was an accomplished crochet artist. Her afghans are cherished by many in the area. She was in charge of the Textile Department at the Sangamon County Fair for over 50 years. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five brothers, Bernard, John, Francis, Ervwin, and Everett Courier. She is survived by her son Donald (wife, Carol) Frainer of Yates City; daughter Elizabeth (husband, Richard) Mogler of New Berlin; five grandchildren Michael and Kevin Frainer, Annette Inman, Amy Duncan, and Rebecca Mihelich; and thirteen great and step-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 E. Birch St., New Berlin with Rev. Angel Sierra as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
