

Lynne Bamford Hagen, 66, of Springfield, died at 7:34 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at St. John's Hospital after an eight year battle with Scleroderma. Lynne was born September 14, 1945 in Chicago, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth Long Bamford. Benjamin passed away early in her life and her mother remarried William Montgomery. Lynne married Henry C. Hagen on August 26, 1967 in Decatur. Lynne graduated from Decatur Eisenhower High School in 1963 and earned her bachelor's degree from Millikin University in 1967. She was a board certified medical technologist, but later volunteered as an art teacher with Jane Addams Grade School Art Outreach program for nine years. Thereafter, she worked as a teacher's assistant for District #186 for fifteen years. Lynne was a member of the Val-E-Vue Civic Association and was the former president of the Football Boosters Club at Lanphier. She enjoyed arts and crafts, calligraphy, flower gardening, reading, and most of all spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and her step-father. She is survived by her husband, Henry C. Hagen of Springfield; two sons, Geoffrey (Lisa) Hagen of Springfield and Todd (Natalie) Hagen of Bloomington; brother-in-law, Robert Hagen of Santa Clara, CA; three sisters-in-law, Mary C. Hagen of Independence, MO, Linda Hagen of Santa Clara, CA and Shirley Perchonok of Newport News, VA; one niece, Michelle (Eric) Han of Sunnyvale, CA; two great-nieces, Julia and Audrey Han, also of Sunnyvale; and several cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until the time of the ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Jerry King officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to: Laurel United Methodist Church, 631 S.
