

Marcella Blua, 98, of Springfield, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Marcella was born October 21, 1919 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Frank and Josephine Oechsli Ratterman. She married Bastianin "Buster" Blua on August 3, 1946; he preceded her in death in 1993. Marcella was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School. She worked for Enro Shirt Company in Louisville, KY in the 1940s. She moved to Springfield in 1946 upon marrying Buster. Marcella was a former member of the Po.L.K. of A Club. She enjoyed baking, canning, yardwork, and playing bingo, bunco, and liverpool. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (George) Stewart of Schaumburg and Marjorie Starling of Springfield; four grandchildren, Carrie Stewart, Jeff (Adrienne) Stewart, Rob Judd, and Cynthia (Jon) Cox; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1020 N. Milton Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Scott Thelander, SJC, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton Ave., Springfield, IL 62702.
