Margaret Alberta "Bert" Bounds

Margaret Alberta "Bert" Bounds, 84, of Springfield, died at 4:26 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Bert was born on August 21, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Eldon and Goldie E. Whitesell Beckner. She married Donald B. Bounds on October 30, 1954 in Hernando, MS. He preceded her in death. Bert attended Feitshan's High School and worked as a secretary for Bounds Construction. She was a member of Real Life Church and the God Squad, Forget-Me-Nots, and served the Church as a volunteer. She enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, and her pets, Shadow and Socks. She was devoted to her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Goodson; grandchildren, Robert Leefers Jr., William R. Grant III, Shelby Bounds, Dustin J. Davis, and Donald Baird, Jr.; one sister, Wilma Beckner; and one brother, Harvey L. Beckner. She is survived by her children, F. Edna Grant of Springfield, IL, Marilyn J. (husband, Jerry) Bosworth of Geneseo, IL, Penny L. (husband, Keith) Shank of Springfield, IL, David A. (wife, Nanci) Bounds of Sioux Falls, SD, Kate Collin of Concrete, WA, Robert Hawley Bounds of Springfield, IL, Danny (wife, Vicki) Bounds of Jackson, MI, Bonnie C. (husband, Alan) Brant of Danville, IL, and Don E. (wife, Janice) Bounds of Springfield, IL; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (husband, Rich) Connelly of Inverness, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Real Life Church, 2450 Taylor Ave., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Real Life Church with Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
