Margaret Buoy Donelan

Margaret Buoy Donelan, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002 at St. John’s Hospice. Margaret was born March 19, 1918 in Springfield, the daughter of James E. and Pauline Miller Buoy Sr.. She married Dr. Earl W. Donelan in 1949. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Browns Business College and she attended Springfield Junior College. She was the first secretary and later office manager of the Springfield Clinic until 1949. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament parish, the Blessed Sacrament Altar and Rosary Society, the Sangamon County Medical Alliance, St. John’s Hospital Samaritans, Women’s Symphony Guild, St. Gerard Circle of St. Joseph Home Coterie, Springfield Civic Garden Club, Willing Circle of King’s Daughter and the Island Bay Yacht Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Iris Hall and three brothers: James E., Harry W. and Robert C. Buoy. She is survived by her husband: Dr. Earl W. Donelan of Springfield; four sons: William (wife, Kristin Wiese) Donelan, of Ramsey, NJ, James (wife, Jean Kulek) Donelan of Downers Grove, IL, Dr. Joseph (wife, Ruth Burns) Donelan of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Peter (wife, Shelly Garrison) Donelan of Elk, CA; two daughters: Kathleen “Kathy” Donelan of Downers Grove, IL, Peggy Anderson (husband, Martin) McEvoy of Springfield; two sisters: Marian Graham of Springfield, Rosemary O’Daffer of Tampa FL; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2002. Visitation will begin with a wake service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday, September 23, 2002 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Very Reverend Kevin Vann principal celebrant.
