Marge was born on June 5, 1939, in Gabe, KY, the daughter of Owen and Bertha Milby Kemp. She was raised by Jack and Clara Milby Boggs after the death of her parents. She married Herman Miller on December 12, 1972, in Loami.
Marge was a mother to everyone she met. She was a wonderful, generous, and spiritual person who had a positive impact and made the world a better place. She married the love of her life and they celebrated 50 wonderful years together. They traveled, camped, cooked, worked, and played together. She established Marge’s Beauty Shop in Chatham in June of 1968, and for 50 years she worked along-side her daughter who was not only her business partner but her best friend. They opened their doors to anyone needing to talk, tan, or be made more beautiful. The beauty shop became the heart of Chatham for friendship, laughter, and story-telling. She never turned anyone away that was in need. Through her love for Jesus, she was blessed with the gift of knowing if someone was in mental or physical pain. Often she would phone a friend because she just knew they were suffering and needed her prayers. With her love for people, there was always an extra guest at holidays. She had a passion for decorating and redecorating her home, and she never let someone come over without sending them out the door with one of her treasures. She was an avid gardener who filled her yard with vivid colors. Above all, she devoted her life to her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She made each one of them feel like they could do anything through her encouraging words and love. Every birthday card had a handwritten and heartfelt message to be cherished. She will be missed by many and can never be replaced. Her legacy will live on in the memory of every life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Eric Edwards; step-son, James Miller; and five siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Miller of Chatham; two sons, Trevor (wife, Theresa) Miller of Chatham and James (wife, Dottie) McCann of Virden; one daughter, Beth (husband, Chris) Bordignon of Chatham; two step-children; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
