Margie A. Higgason

She was born on February 8, 1933, in Alliance, OH, the daughter of Gary L. and Mary Louella (Kinney) Hein. Margie married William E. Higgason on September 12, 1959, in Princeton, IL. He preceded her in death, on December 8, 2003.

Margie graduated from Ohio’s Alliance High School and attended Sherwood Music College. She was a member of the Springfield/Loami community for 28 years. Margie enjoyed Scrabble, bridge, singing, and playing the piano. She loved animals and adopted many dogs over the years. She was a faithful and compassionate woman whose relationships with her family, friends, and fellow churchgoers were highly valued.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Melvin Beyers; stepmother, Dorothy Hein; daughter, Sali Higgason; and brother, Gary Hein.

Margie is survived by her stepdaughter, Cynda Hyndman of Lewiston, ID; grandchildren, Emily Brown and Sara Hyndman; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Hyndman and Addison and Oliver Brown; and nephews Gary and Douglas Hein.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. W. A ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
