Margie was born in Hardin, MT, February 5, 1947 the daughter of Alec and Martha (Fink) Fox. She met Dr. Travis Hindman and they were married January 18, 1969 and he survives.
Also surviving are their two sons; Jeffrey (Lynnette) Hindman of Bloomington, IL and T. Sean (Suzanne) Hindman of Marquette, MI, four grandchildren: Alec. Lauren, Travis W. (Allison) and Louis Hindman, her brother, Larry (Marilyn) Fox of Billings, MT, two sisters; Karen Fox of Billings, MT and Sharon Helmann of Springfield, IL. She has several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Fox.
Margie retired in 2007 from Dr. David Groesch office where she served as a receptionist for many years.
Margie was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. She was a faithful and devoted member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended Sunday morning Bible Study. Margie had an avid interest in Landscaping and Horticulture. She designed and constructed the landscaping at their personal homes for over 40 years as well as offered assistance and consultation to others. She certainly by definition had a “green thumb”. She also became an expert caring for the family home swimming pools. She loved to swim and found great joy in teaching not only her children but many others how to swim.
She and Travis enjoyed traveling the world, studying and becoming acquainted with other cultures. They would enjoy winters in Cabo San Lucas where they both enjoyed deep sea fishing. She was an athlete and had a deep commitment to physical fitness. She was an avid mountain bicycle enthusiast winning several competitions including two in Marquette, MI after age 70. She was an accomplished downhill skier, an avid reader, and enjoyed ball room dancing. In her retirement, she self-studied and became very proficient creating greeting cards for many occasions. She found great joy in sharing them with family and friends over the years.
Margie was well known for her culinary skills. An excellent chef and most gracious hostess for many as she and Travis welcomed family and friends to their home.
With all of her interest and accomplishments, the most important part of her life was her family. She was a devoted grandmother to not only her own grandchildren, but many other “adopted” grandchildren from her church family and community. She was loved by all who knew her, evidence by the many cards, phone calls, visits and prayers as her health declined.
