Mark A. Minnick

Mark A. Minnick, 56, of Springfield, died at 5:45 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2005 at his home. Mark was born on February 25, 1949 in Robinson, IL the son of Maynard William and Alberta Pearl Phillips Minnick. He married Nancy Rigdon on January 11, 1985 in Springfield. Mr. Minnick was a 1967 graduate of Robinson High School and a graduate from University of Illinois at Springfield. He joined the U.S. Air Force where he worked as a Missile Mechanic from 1967-1971 and a computer Analyst from 1971-1975. He later worked for Honeywell/Bull as a technical manager and for the State of Illinois, Secretary of State as a computer analyst. He was a member of the Firefighter Postal Club, Elks Club #158, Lake Press Club, American Legion Post #32 and Eagles Aeries #437. He is survived by his wife: Nancy of Springfield, one daughter: Melinda Marie “Mindy” (husband, Roy) LeFevre of Stockbridge, GA and three grandchildren: Nicole “Nikki”, Kaitlyn and Joshua LeFevre; one sister: Marsha (husband, Matt Bugno) Jones of Youngstown, OH; one brother: Michael (wife, Rhose) Minnick of Crestview, FL and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by The Cremation Tribute Center. There will be a memorial gathering from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Br. Jim Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
