

Marla J. Norgaard, 48, of Sherman, died at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at her home. Marla was born on June 16, 1959 in Springfield, the daughter of Donald M. and Elizabeth P. Dugger Richardson. She married Lawrence L. Norgaard on November 22, 2005 in Springfield. She graduated from Williamsville High School in 1977. She was employed with Franklin Life Insurance Company from 1977 to 1996 and then was employed as a computer programmer with State of Illinois, Department of Human Services. Marla also worked with the Megaforce Consulting Company from 1996 to 2005. She enjoyed playing the guitar, bowling and taking her hot rod for a ride. Marla also loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. She became a member of H.O.G. in 2001 and was a former member of the Southern Cruisers. Marla enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing or tending to her yard. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence L. Norgaard of Sherman; two sons: Jesse (wife, Carrie) Pearce of Springfield and Caleb Pearce of Sherman; her parents: Donald and Elizabeth Pauline Richardson of Sherman; three sisters: Vicki Richardson (life companion, Ron) of Riverton, Sue (husband, David) Braham of Girard and Sandi Richardson of Orlando, Florida; one brother: Donald (wife, Julie) Richardson of Springfield; three aunts; one uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. The family welcomes friends to visit for a Memorial Gathering from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Emerson officiating.
